THE FIVE POINT LESSON PLAN

The Rogers Foundation of Music has developed a will balanced and effective
five point plan on learning the workings of music as well as developing
proficiency on the instrument. This unique and powerfully thorough half hour
lesson plan guides the student within definite guidelines to insure growth and
planned practice throughout each week. The plan is outlined below.
__________________________________________
1-TECHNIC
__________________________________________
Part one:

This involves a study in Fingerpower exercise books for the beginning student
and moves to Hanon in the intermediate and advanced stages.

Part two:
Scales and arpeggios are thoroughly studied here which also ingrains the
foundations of music theory.

2-NOTE READING AND RHYTHM STUDY AND/OR
CLASSICAL MUSIC
__________________________________________
Beginning students learn music symbols, notes and rhythms in easy effective
ways that have been developed by RFM. After the foundation is laid, basic
music reading and rhythm studies begin in a graded method series.

Soon after this students begin their studies in classical music, stretching their
limits and developing their skills.

3-COMMERCIAL MUSIC (FUN)
__________________________________________
Students are rewarded with arrangements of commercial music selected or
written by Phil Rogers.

It's also here where the Rogers Foundation of Music reaches out and writes a
song or songs from the students favorite CD, cassette tape or mini disc. This
is a great tool to boost interest.

Just think how good it feels to be able to play a song you’ve heard on the radio
---whether it is a song from today or yesterday.

This allows the students to take part in their studies and also play the music
they listen to everyday.

4-NOTE READING AND RHYTHM STUDIES
(RECITING IN PREPARATION FOR SIGHT READING)
__________________________________________
Students further develop their note reading skills through the series of reading
exercises written and developed by Phil Rogers of the Rogers Foundation of
Music.

This is a necessary supplement to develop reading accuracy and efficiency.

5-THEORY
__________________________________________
This gives students of all levels a deeper insight into music
theory using the Five Laws of Music written and developed
by the author Phil Rogers. Each law is basic and easy to learn
but very powerful toward the understanding of music theory
and improvisation. The study of music theory along with the
application gives the students the tools to impvovise and
compose music of their own. Students now know how music
is made and with the tools learned they are able to create
music inside them.
